For a weighted GPA, honors courses add 0.5 and AP, IB or college-level courses add 1.0 to the grade points of any passing grade. A cumulative GPA combines your prior GPA and credits with the new courses: (Prior GPA × Prior credits + New quality points) ÷ (Prior credits + New credits). Check your school’s policy, since some schools cap A+ at 4.0.
